"Mentor Wonders" Work-in-Progress Screening Video
What’s “Mentor Wonders” about?
During an Orientation for volunteers at a San Antonio bilingual public school, mentors share stories about their interactions with students. Their dialog is interrupted by daydreams, poetry paired with music. An AMBER alert goes off, upsetting everyone when they realize the abducted child is a mentee they know. This terrible situation resolves so that both the boy and his mentor eventually become satisfied with their lives.
Work-in-Progress (WIP) video screening - What is that?
This video was recorded over many weeks during online cast rehearsals. I edited footage into a rough version of how the finished play will sound. This video, an unfinished work-in-progress read by the cast members, lasts a little more than an hour.
Made possible in part with support from the City of San Antonio, Department of Arts & Culture.
